Course Description

An advanced module that builds on the Becoming a Change Agent, Level I module for front-line supervisors and managers. Class participants will learn about the psychology of change, at the individual employee and organizational level. Strategies for planning organizational change and managing change will be developed. Further, participants will learn how individual employees may react to change, and what tactics can be used to minimize negative consequences for employees, and what tactics may be used to help employees cope with change.

The class will explore executive roles during change, how to analyze change initiatives through Lewin’s force field analysis, plan for organizational change, and learn to conduct a stakeholder impact assessment.

By the end of the class, students will be able to identify:

  • the three main phases of change
  • 5-stage ADKAR Change Management Model
  • Tactics and best practices of going through change
  • Resistance to change and how to overcome it
  • The Change Conversation
