Course Description

The purpose of this course is to integrate complex healthcare theoretical knowledge and skills at the Registered Nurse, baccalaureate level, practice for the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) competency: Nurse as Clinician. The course further builds upon the material presented in Registered Nurse as Clinician 1 and supports the development of a deeper understanding and application of professional nursing concepts identified by the CNO and the skills needed to participate as a member of an interprofessional healthcare team. Concept-based learning and concept analysis is incorporated to support an understanding and application of professional nursing practice concepts identified by the CNO, and the skills to participate as a member of an interprofessional healthcare team in Canada. The assignments, exams and simulations provide an opportunity to develop learning and study strategies to help prepare students for the NCLEX-RN exam.
