Course Description

In this course students will be provided with opportunities to develop and demonstrate achievement of the College of Nurses of Ontario’s entry-to-practice competencies. As such, students will have opportunities to develop and demonstrate competency in professional judgment and practice decisions by applying the ethical values and responsibilities in the College’s standards for ethics and critical inquiry to inform clinical decision-making, and establish therapeutic, caring, and culturally safe relationships with clients and the interprofessional health care team.

Notes

This is the third course in the Council of Ontario Universities' (COU) Competency-Bridging Program of Study for Internationally-Educated Nurses (IEN).

Prerequisites

Successful completion of the first  IEN program course.
