Course Description

Registered Nurse as Professional focuses on developing and consistently demonstrating professional decision making in the delivery of safe, competent and ethical nursing care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario’s (CNO) RN Entry-to-Practice competencies (CNO, 2018). As a Registered Nurse, you will be expected to uphold the practice standards and provide ethical care as a professional accountable to both the public and the profession of nursing. This course is designed to support internationally educated nurses to demonstrate through course assignments an understanding of the concept of accountability, scope of practice, professional presence, boundaries, and judgment.


This course is restricted to those enrolled in the Ontario Internationally Educated Nurses Course Consortium (IEN) program.
